Facilities and Equipment
We offer to ALL our patients our newest technology.
We recently obtained a Canon Retinal Camera. This camera takes a detailed picture of the back of your eye which helps your eye doctor to diagnose and treat retinal disorders such as Glaucoma, Diabetes, and Macular Degeneration. It can also help the doctor to monitor freckles that can appear in the retina to make sure they are not growing or changing over time which could represent a Melanoma. The camera can document scarring in the retinal tissue, vascular disorders, as well as holes and tears of the thin retinal tissue.
For patients with healthy eyes the Retinal Camera is a great method of keeping a permanent digital record of the retinal tissue to monitor for healthy progression or noticing minor changes of the tissue. This is a great new technology for any age.
We also have a Humphrey Visual Field Machine. This machine is used to test patients who are have Glaucoma or who are developing Glaucoma. This machine is also very important for patients who have had a stoke, or brain trauma. Patients who have developed MS or Rheumatoid Arthritis should also be tested because some of the medicine that treats these diseases can affect the eyes.
If you need this test your Optometrist will advise you.
